Dr. Lerose kindly agreed to showcase a number of his association’s short films
on the big screen at the Deaf Club. The event was very well attended and
participants came from all over Malta and Gozo.
Films were mainly in Italian Sign Language (Lingua dei Segni Italiana - LIS) with
English subtitles and covered a range of genres including comedy, horror, drama
and science-fiction. The Deaf People Association were also pleased to welcome
a number of hearing friends, family members and Rotarians to the Deaf Club
for a taste of Deaf Culture.
After the films, Deaf People Association President Steven Mulvaney chaired a
question and answer session with Dr. Lerose about his films, work and life for
Deaf people in Italy. Feedback from members was very positive and a great
night was had by all.
